Lindsey Lohan Arrested for DUI,
Cocaine
Lindsay Lohan was arrested on DUI charges on the morning of Tuesday
for the second time in just a few months. Police say they also discovered
cocaine in one of her pants pockets.
Lohan, 21, was booked on two felony charges of possession of cocaine
and transport of a narcotic and two misdemeanor charges of suspicion of driving
under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license, said Sgt.
Shane Talbot.
She was then released on a $25,000 bail.
Lohan was stopped near the Santa Monica Police Department after
authorities spotted her vehicle chasing another car, Talbot said.
Police administered a field sobriety test and then took Lohan to the
police department. Lohan's blood alcohol level was between .12 and .13, well
over the .08 legal limit in California.
Police said they received a call at about 1:30 a.m. from passengers
in a Cadillac Escalade SUV who said they were being followed by a white Denali
SUV. Police met up with the SUVs in the parking lot of Santa Monica's Civic
Center.
As police got near the Denali, they recognized Lohan as the driver.
The passengers in the other SUV apparently know Lohan, but did not realize
she was following them.
Lohan had two passengers in her car. There were three people in the
other car, police said.
Police said that Lohan was chasing a vehicle driven by a woman. The
woman was scaired and tried to drive toward the police department, got to
within a block, pulled the car into the parking lot and phoned the
police.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Lohan and the woman engaged
in an argument and realized Lohan was under the influence. Lohan resisted
a field sobriety test, cops searched her and found the cocaine in her pants
pocket.
Lohan checked out of a Malibu drug rehab center on July 13 after a
stay of over 6 weeks. She has been wearing an alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet,
going to Alcoholics Anonymous groups and receiving counseling ever
since.
Lohan first checked into rehab for drug abuse treatment in January.
Earlier this month, her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, said "Lindsay is
working hard on her sobriety and we are all supporting her."
